Discount Dansko shoes are pretty much the best thing for your feet and wallet. All Dansko shoes that we’ve tried on literally hundreds of pairs of feet have been durable, reliable, safe, long-lasting and hard-working. As long as you’re buying from an established retailer, why wouldn’t you pay less for better quality?
Of course, like anything, there are some tricks to buying the best discount Dansko shoes. It’s mostly common sense: think carefully about what you’re after, establish a budget, try some Dankso shoes on in person before you buy them (online or locally), see what discounts you can get, and buy more than one pair at the best price you can afford for them.
People buy Dansko shoes for specific reasons, and you’re no exception. I’ve been selling shoes for a while, and have picked out my favourite brands for those specific reasons. Obviously, I’m not going to tell you to buy Dansko if some Florsheims would suit you better!
So when do I recommend people go for Dansko shoes? Firstly, a lot of people come to be specifically asking for something from the Dansko range. They’ve either heard about it from word of mouth – which is the sign of an excellent product – or they’re coming back having been satisfied with a previous product.
With products as changeable and fashion-driven as shoes, it’s interesting as someone who deals with footwear for a living to see what brands build up loyalty over time. Dankso is certainly one of those brands!
Discount Dansko Shoes
We don’t recommend Dansko shoes for everyone, nor for every situation. Dansko are a brand that have built up a solid reputation, and for good reason, but that doesn’t mean that every one of your shoes should be Dansko shoes. Far from it.
Let’s look at what Dansko does well before we look into ways to get the shoes for a discount. Now it’s pretty clear that even if you’re paying full price for a pair of Dansko shoes, you’re getting pretty darn good value for money.
I’ve owned a dozen pairs in recent times, different styles, and worn them inside, outside, on stockroom floors, on dancefloors, and even while renovating my house. They weren’t so great on the dancefloor -I’d accidentally worn a pair with safely gripping soles, rendering my version of The Twist strictly a ‘knees-and-above’ affair – but everywhere else, they’ve become my go-to shoes.
They’re tough and long-lasting, and they aren’t going to fall apart on you at the first sign of stress. Going on an unexpected Friday Night Adventure? Elevator’s broken and you need to spend all day running up and down the stairs to Accounting? You won’t be grumbling at the end of it if you’re wearing properly fitted Dansko’s.
That’s not to say that you can’t still wear stilettos out – I’m the first to admit I love what they do to my figure, even if I often end an evening holding them. I actually keep a pair of Dansko flats tucked into my larger, gong-out handbag to act as an emergency backup!
That’s not to say they’re suitable for all occasions. If you want to dominate a dance floor, then consider heels or another pair of shoes. Dansko shoes, even the ones not designed for work safety, are stupendously grippy. If you’re going to a job interview, you might want to glam it up a little. And if you’re in a situation where dress shoes are called for, then wear them.
Dansko shoes’ comfortability and ruggedness is a big plus in their favor, but sometimes you have to suck it up and wear something else.
The Buy 2 Pairs Theory
We’ve all heard this one, right? You know what I’m talking about – you go out, shop, find a perfect pair of shoes, buy them, come home, and wear them into the ground. Then they’re gone… But if you’d bought two pairs of shoes, you’d still have a perfectly fitting spare pair waiting for you!
When we’re talking about bespoke or leather shoes, then of course you should give your shoes a day or two off to rest and recover. Dansko shoes don’t need the kid glove treatment, but if you’re going to buy them while on sale, shouldn’t you use the money you’ve saved to get another pair, or a different color? Variety is the spice of life, after all!
Finding Discount Dansco Shoes
Finding the best discounts is the real challenge. Online retailers have far fewer overheads than brick-and-mortar stores, so online is where you need to go. Because there’s so much competition online, shoe retailers make good use of email newsletters, subscriber lists, and aggressive promotion. Try googling a few places that sell Dansko shoes and subscribing to their mailing lists.
Retailers aren’t stupid. They want to build loyalty to their brand, and one way they can encourage you to read through their newsletters is by offering discounts that you can’t get anywhere else.
You can also subscribe to online deal sites, but these are more of a shotgun, scattered approach. Even if some dansko shoes go on sale, they’ll almost always be the outlying, under-popular sizes and unfashionable styles. What you want are the ones that are the most popular, which are less likely to be shipped off to massive warehouse wholesalers.
I also regularly advertise discounted Dansko shoes when someone lets me know about them, so check back here on occasion.
What sort of discounts?
What’s a reasonable amount to expect to save off Dansko shoes when they’re on sale? It actually varies depending on whether you’re after normal shoes, which change in fashion with each season, or something more practical like Dansko nursing shoes.
The shoe lines that are modified and updated with changing fashions get produced in smaller numbers, but then you can get great bargains at the end of season. Retailers only want to have the latest products in their warehouses, as back-orders for prior styles die off massively as time progresses. For that reason, you can often pick up perfectly nice pairs of Dansko shoes for around 50-60% off.
If you’re after something less affected by the whims of fashion, like sturdy Dansko working shoes, then the discounts you can find will be less, probably in the region of 25-45% off. Still, any amount of money is worth saving!
Good luck in finding the perfect shoes for you!
